We’re about to take a summer break from producing the Nailsworth News, there will be no August edition (but look out for The Fountain appearing instead.) I have now been at the helm for a full year. Before I head off on holiday, I want to thank the rest of the crew for their expertise, hard work and support. Between them they take care of the finances; produce the What’s On; manage the distribution; handle advertising; undertake market research; look after the website; take a lead on local business news; explore green issues; write the sporting entries; supply photographs; provide a youth perspective; and of course distribute the paper month in, month out, whatever the weather.

There is also a wider team of contributors who send in regular articles on everything from civic affairs and archive material to matters of faith. And finally, there are the local businesses that pay our costs by regularly using our pages to advertise, and of course the printers who turn it all into the newspaper that hits the street.

These are the people who (to torture the analogy a bit) supply, crew and steer HMS Nailsworth News. I hope that they all have a good holiday break. The paper will be refloating at the beginning of September; deadline for contributions 15th August.
